Veloura Atelier

The Atelier

Where craft meets creativity

Our atelier is the heart of Veloura Collective. Located in East London, it is a space dedicated to the quiet, focused work of making beautiful things.

Here, skilled pattern cutters, tailors, and seamstresses bring our designs to life. Each garment passes through multiple hands, each contributing their expertise to ensure the highest quality. This is slow, deliberate work—the kind that cannot be rushed or replicated by machines.

We believe in transparency. When you commission a piece from Veloura, you are not just purchasing clothing—you are supporting a team of makers, investing in traditional skills, and participating in a process that values quality over speed.

Our Process

From concept to completion

1

Design

Every collection begins with research, sketching, and material exploration. We develop concepts that balance aesthetics with functionality.

2

Pattern Making

Our pattern cutters translate designs into precise technical patterns, refined through multiple toiles to perfect fit and proportion.

3

Construction

Skilled makers cut, sew, and finish each garment by hand. Traditional techniques ensure durability and a superior finish.

4

Quality Control

Every piece undergoes rigorous inspection. Only garments that meet our exacting standards leave the atelier.

Traditional Techniques

We employ time-honored tailoring methods that have been refined over centuries. Hand-basting, pad stitching, and hand-finished buttonholes are just a few of the techniques that distinguish our work.

These methods take longer and require greater skill, but the results are incomparable. Garments constructed this way have a softness and fluidity that machine-made clothing cannot replicate. They move with the body, conform to the wearer, and improve with age.

Sustainable Practice

Our made-to-order model eliminates overproduction and waste. We purchase only the materials we need, and every offcut is carefully stored for future use in smaller projects or repairs.

We source fabrics from mills that share our values—heritage producers who prioritize quality, fair labor practices, and environmental responsibility. Many of our materials are certified organic, and we avoid synthetic fibers whenever possible.

This is not fast fashion. It is fashion as it should be: considered, responsible, and built to last.
